Romanian ammunition carries a factory code headstamp of 22. (As a side note, other factory codes are seen on other calibers, but 22 is the only one found on 7.62x54). Only the date code was used in the 1980's. During this time, no factory code was used in the headstamp.
Romania followed Warsaw Pact standards of tip color marking, packaging and case material. Liberal amounts of red primer and neck sealer are found on their ammunition.
